This is not a step-by-step set of instructions so much as it is just my notes to remind me of what I'm supposed to be doing. Some of these are house rules, particularly the section on Force Skills. Comments and corrections are welcome.
Begin by rolling 3d6. Each die that rolls a 6 equals one talent opportunity. For each talent opportunity, roll percentiles and look up the corresponding talent from the Skills and Talents list.
If you wish to select an Advanced skill, be sure to indicate which skills are the Prerequisites.
Each character starts with 18D that are spread among the six attributes. You may split a die between attributes if you wish.
After that, choose 26 skills from the skills list. One you have selected all your skills, an additional 7D are spread among them to increase those skills as desired. 1D is used to begin an Advanced skill which begins at 1D and costs 2x to raise.
Then, choose three Specializations from among your skills (exclude talents). These specializations receive one extra die above the base skill they fall under.
For a Jedi character 12D are divided among the three Force Attributes:
Your skills under each will be taught by your master and be the base of the attribute they fall under, just like normal skills.
Lightsaber Combat and all other skills that fall under more than one (Control, Sense, Alter) start as the average of the two or three attributes.
After an adventure, you may raise each normal skill. To raise Attributes costs 10x the normal cost, and the starting 7D cannot be added to attributes. Specialisations cost half, Talents cost 1/4. When raising skills, keep in mind that a D is made up of 3 pips. (+1, +2, then the next highest D)
Your master will warn you that the use of your powers can be 'discovered' if another user is on the same continent in some cases, and is actively in tune with the force. They may not know where you are, but will be at least forewarned. It is possible for a user to detect another within the same galaxy, he's heard. But those types of people became one with the force long ago.
You need a master to learn a new skill and it usually takes a week to learn. Skills with 4D, as a general rule, are considered to be the level of a trained professional. An average person-on-the-street possesses most skills at 2D.
All skills are a broad general knowledge of that topic, which is why they added specializations. Characters also start with 5 Character Points and 1 Force Point. Force using characters begin with 2 Force Points as well as those characters that are force sensitive. I usually consider that on a case-by-case basis.
