$1,489,183.06 USD. That's how much the Bugatti Veyron costs.
Momentarily setting aside the fact that I'm about $1,489,183.00 short of buying one, there are the niggling little details of having a) nowhere in North America to drive it except for, say, Arizona and parts of western Canada in the summer, and b) absolutely no driving skills that would qualify me to turn the key in the first place.
But all the same, it'd be really cool to go 252mph. In a car. Made by Volkswagen.

138.9 mph
I have gone 138.9 miles per hour in a NASCAR race car around Atlanta Motor speedway. Anyone gone faster?

Well, technically...
...but I'm assuming that commercial airliners don't count!
I went over 100 in my Chevy Nova once, but I had slowed down to 91 when the Florida Trooper hit me with his radar gun, so I don't have proof. The speedometer only went up to 85 in that car, so it's all guesswork.
WHY?
Why build a car that can go faster than a human has the capability of driving? Than there is place on the face of the earth to be able to drive said car? Than any normal person in the known world can afford? Because we *CAN* dammit! LOL
With that being said, I'd love to go a couple of laps in a racecar at racing speed...and have you seen my blog and read about the rekindling of a dream of mine over the 4th? LOL We all can dream. It's what keeps us semi-sane.
