Rolemaster: Game Two Character Creation Notes

General

This is a modern, everyman game that takes place in the same alternate history as my original CTU game.  However, unlike the original game, which was heroic and only used uses stat rolls of 85+, this is more of an "everyman" game that uses stat rolls of 50+.

All the characters should be male, at least 15 years old, and living in the town of Summersville in the mountains of West Virginia. No active or reserve military, but retired and ROTC is okay.

Skill Restrictions

Skills like Way of the Warrior will be limited (at the start) to characters with a background that supports it, such as mining, lumberjacking, or some other he-man, macho profession. Sniping, ambush, and similar Green Beret style skills will be similarly restricted, such as one skill rank in sniping only, and only for characters who regularly hunt deer from a tree stand or blind.

Everyone should develop their background, profession, and relationships first, then build their skills from that and contact me with questions.  Background options should be generated as usual, with the exception of those that would not fit in a modern game.

Skill Mapping

Modern skills that aren't directly listed in the Rolemaster books like using a computer, often have a Rolemaster equivalent.  For example, anything that is considered the use of a pre-manufactured machine falls under "Mechanition" {Ag/Re}.

Most modern repair skills, such as fixing a car, fall under "Crafting" {Ag/SD}.

Free Skills

Because education in the 21st century is better than in the typical fantasy scenario, some skills are granted at zero cost for level one.  This is to help represent the broader general knowledge of "normal" people.  Developing these skills may be done normally at higher levels.
