My friend Gil had some questions about my new infatuation with the Apple Macintosh:

OS X still does not solve the problem of Mac software, or the lack thereof. How would you answer someone who is concerned about Mac software? As a programmer, how difficult do you think it would be to port software from OS X to a PC based Linux?

Also, I am interested to know how long it took you to get comfortable with the new OS. Assume you knew nothing about Linux, how quickly would the average Windows user start to feel comfortable with a Mac.

So, I'm going to indulge in a little more praise for my new Mac.
